Call for Entries
The Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition aims to find the best wildlife pictures taken by photographers worldwide, and to inspire them to visionary and expressive interpretations of nature.
All the winning and commended photographs will go on display at the Natural History Museum, London, from October 2007 until spring 2008. The exhibition then tours the UK, as well as many countries overseas. All the winning and commended images are also published in a commemorative hardback book, Portfolio 17 and in a souvenir supplement free with the November issue of BBC Wildlife Magazine.
The title Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2007 will be given to the photographer judged to have taken the single most striking and memorable of all the entries in the 12 categories and 3 special awards. The winner will receive a cheque for £10,000, presented at an awards ceremony at the National History Museum, London, in October 2007.
Digital images are now accepted, but they must faithfully represent nature. The competition welcomes entries by amateurs and professionals of all ages and nationalities. Closing date for postal entries to be received in the Competition Office - Friday 23 March 2007. Closing date for online entry - Friday 30 March 2007 .
